Need for Speed: ProStreet delivers racing action at blistering speeds with intensely realistic roads and cars. The full-throttle franchise finally leaves the comfort of a single city to traverse iconic tracks around the globe.

The graphics are beautifully layered with exquisite finishing touches. Rays of sunlight glisten through wispy tree leaves to illuminate gritty cracks in the pavement. Every little impact is captured with accurate portrayals of vehicular destruction. Brand new sports cars quickly accumulate major scratches, dings and dents as they race one another. Rigorous races can rapidly total the most souped-up rides, so consistent automobile upkeep is a must! Important matches can be forfeited by taking on too much damage.

The camera toggles between different perspectives with the simple push of a button. First-person racing is exhilarating, but the breakneck pace may be too much for the beginner to handle uaing this feature. Most situations are best handled with the standard third-person view.

Official licensing deals have netted the series a variety of actual makes and models that players can select for racing. The replicas are shiny and gorgeous, making crashes feel especially gutwrenching and devastating. Nothing is more painful than colliding into the curb with a brand new Mercedes. To add insult to injury, skid marks stay in place to be witnessed again on every lap.

Of course, beautiful babes are a cornerstone of the Need for Speed franchise. On this release, the women surpass the hotness of all the babes in the game's previous releases. This version includes two tantalizing vixens that don miniskirts and bikini tops. Their curvy contours are in full view, and their playfully teasing voices provide core objectives and crucial instructions in a. ery flirtatious way. With lasciviously long legs that know how to work the pedals, these girls even hint at lesbianism in a not-so-subtle fashion. Skimpiness is at its zenith, and there is a lot of alluring skin on display.

As usual, this franchise boasts an intensely rocking soundtrack that is cleverly integrated into the dashboard's radio controls. The odometer is also a classic model. This retro fixture keeps track of the car's condition to prevent burnout at top speeds. It has vintage values that are downright charming. The built-in monitor reveals boosts that near 300MPH.

Compared with previous games in the franchise, this one feels slightly incomplete. A primary perk of the series is its signature intertwined race tracks, and this title is the first one to only feature stand-alone courses. The backdrops are stunning, but the races feel repetitiously indistinguishable - without an overarching map linking them together. Failing to merge the winding roads comes across as lazy on the part of the developers, but the races are still amazing.

Three difficulty settings ensure that gamers of all skill levels can enjoy this title. Still, there are a few kinks to work out before the fun can begin in earnest. Mainly, the nearly 800MB file size requires some personal maintenance to prevent loading glitches. Installation with this one requires extra patience!
